The Big Poem Project is an artist-led initiative placing large-scale poetry into public space — allowing female voices to take up room where they have historically been edited, softened, or made to fit.
Rooted in feminist satire and lived experience, the work treats poetry as presence rather than decoration. These are poems that refuse containment: written large, encountered in passing, absorbed unevenly. They do not shout, but they do not shrink. They stand their ground.
This body of work has been exhibited at The F Word Exhibition at Firepit Gallery and Not the London Art Fair at Candid Arts Gallery, marking a shift from gallery walls to the wider city. One poem, X, received the Binsted Prize at the South Downs Poetry Festival 2025.
